The Peace Officers' Memorial Foundation of Texas was initially created by Texas peace officers to raise money for the construction and maintenance of a peace officers memorial monument on the
grounds of the state capitol complex in Austin, Texas.
The foundation hosts a biennial memorial ceremony at the state capitol during odd numbered years when the Texas Legislature is in session. In addition, they co-sponsor a college scholarship program
with the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas. The program grants annual $500 scholarships to the children of Texas peace officers
for use towards a college or university education.
The foundation is funded solely by contributions and through sales of foundation memorabilia and products. They do not raise money via telephone solicitations.
